Yang Mian’s Artwork: A Visual Journey in Artworks and Life of Chinese Visual Culture

This App contains all photographs of Yang Mian’s artworks since the 1990s. Yang’s works could be seen as a rearrangement on typical cultural phenomena that China uses images to deliver and convey civilization. Many of these pictures present as hints of his experiments on Chinese image dissembling in many periods. These images converted to artworks are classified in to many series: Beauty Standard, Architecture Standard, From China: Cultural Revolution, and CMYK.

This app also contains world-famous critics and interview articles published on TIME, Forbes Life on Yang’s arts and art experience as well as featured interpretation of Yang’s artistic creation and concept.

Vital and Interesting Personal Experience
-He was born in a traditional intellectual family and was sensitive and sentimental for his father was accused of rightist in his childhood. He decided not to be a painter against his father’s will but finally went to fine arts academy upon his father’s death.
-He graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Sichuang Fine Arts Institute, but keeps the lest mark left by Sichuang Fine Arts Institute. He takes efforts to build up an independent artistic value and academic career.
-He makes himself in the art other than the common artistic value. He lives in the social network but still keeps alert on it.
-He is the winner of the 1st Chinese Contemporary Art Award, and his works have been exhibited and collected worldwide. He loves architecture and life. He believes the taste is temperance.
